What religion is GloRilla?

GloRilla is an American rapper who was raised in a strict Christian household and has publicly identified with Christian faith.

GloRilla has established herself as one of the music industry’s most influential front-facing forces, wielding her exceptional rap talents to create some of the biggest hip-hop anthems of the 21st century. Known for her booming delivery, GloRilla has fueled chart-topping success alongside fellow superstars, including Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, and Tyler, The Creator. Her hit credits include her breakout viral anthem “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)”; the Billboard top-10 smash “Tomorrow 2”; and contemporary festival staples like “Yeah Glo!,” “TGIF,” and “Wanna Be.”

Beyond her individual prowess, GloRilla has ventured heavily into dominant collaborations and high-energy live performances, anchoring massive multi-artist festival lineups, securing a standout debut at Coachella, and commands stadium tours worldwide. Her distinctive knack for crafting infectious, heavy-hitting hooks and memorable, empowering lyrics has made her an indispensable force in modern rap, with her contributions helping to define the sound of a new musical generation. As both a magnetic performer and a proud torchbearer for classic Memphis crunk, GloRilla’s impact on the industry extends far beyond standard viral fame, making her one of hip-hop’s most valuable and driving architects.

Endorsements

In February 2025, GloRilla became the first-ever joint brand ambassador for all four of Rihanna’s Fenty brands. She debuted as the face of the spring collection in the “Glo Up Close” campaign. This historic deal across Savage X Fenty, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, and Fenty Hair had her prominently featured on the company’s main platforms and website.

In August 2025, GloRilla partnered with the fast-food chain Checkers and Rally’s for a nationwide television and digital campaign. The deal centered around the launch of her own custom “GloRilla BBQ Jacked Burger” and a budget-friendly $4 Unbeatable Meal Deal. The partnership was heavily rooted in her personal history of frequently eating at the restaurant growing up in Memphis.

Other major endorsements and fashion commercials include starring in the PrettyLittleThing x Kappa vintage streetwear capsule campaign, releasing a fire-and-ice-inspired clothing collection with Shein, and brand partnerships with Adidas Originals and Tommy Hilfiger.

Early life and education

Gloria Hallelujah Woods, known professionally as GloRilla, was born on July 28, 1999, in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in the city’s North Memphis neighborhood of Frayser. She grew up in a strict Christian household as the eighth of ten children. Inspired by artists like Kirk Franklin, she spent her childhood singing in her church choir and was homeschooled by her mother until the fifth grade. She later attended Melrose High School, where she started rapping at the age of 16 after losing her voice and pivoting away from her initial dream of becoming a professional gospel singer.

Breakthrough with “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)”

In 2022, GloRilla released early independent music, but her major breakthrough came with the April 2022 single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” (produced by Hitkidd). The track sparked a massive viral challenge on TikTok, peaking at No. 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning her a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance. The song’s explosive summer success caught the attention of fellow Memphis native Yo Gotti, leading GloRilla to sign a high-profile record deal with his Collective Music Group (CMG) imprint in July 2022. In September 2022, her solo track “Tomorrow” was upgraded into a high-energy remixed sequel titled “Tomorrow 2” featuring Cardi B. The collaborative anthem quickly went viral, debuting and peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking GloRilla’s very first top-ten hit on the chart. Both tracks served as the lead singles for her debut major-label EP, “Anyways, Life’s Great,” which was released in November 2022. The project performed exceptionally well for a debut effort, entering the Billboard 200 at No. 11 and establishing GloRilla as a core new powerhouse in mainstream rap music. Other tracks from the EP era included the fan-favorite singles “Blessed” and “Nut Quick.”

Debut studio album

Largely due to the success of “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” GloRilla signed with Collective Music Group (CMG) and Interscope Records in July 2022. In April 2024, she released her highly anticipated mixtape entitled “Ehhthang Ehhthang.” Two months later, she released her next big hit, the single “TGIF.” She finally released her debut studio album, “GLORIOUS,” in October 2024. A significant hit, the album reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200. It was followed by a bonus track edition featuring new music, including a gospel-infused rap track and the single “Whatchu Kno About Me,” featuring rapper Sexyy Red.

After teasing new music toward the end of 2025, she released a new single entitled “Killin’ It Girl.” Later, she released the track “G2,” the lead single from her upcoming second studio album; it became a highly anticipated follow-up to her massive debut era. GloRilla put out her next single as part of the rollout, continuing her dominant run at the forefront of mainstream hip-hop.

Collaborations

GloRilla has collaborated with a variety of other artists during her young career. In addition to her hit remix of “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Latto and JT, she was featured on the Moneybagg Yo single “On Wat U On.” Alongside Latto and Gangsta Boo, GloRilla was also featured on the remix of the Latto song “FTCU.” On the same day as the release of her debut album trailer, she was announced as a prominent feature on Tyler, the Creator’s smash single “Sticky” alongside Sexyy Red and Lil Wayne. Additionally, GloRilla has partnered with such artists as Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, T-Pain, and Chris Brown.

Personal life and controversies

GloRilla keeps details about her love life relatively private, preferring not to discuss her romantic history in depth during interviews. However, she has previously spoken about her decision to practice celibacy while waiting for marriage. In late 2025, she broke her usual silence on dating by revealing she was in a relationship with NBA player Brandon Ingram, sharing that the two had met around Thanksgiving the previous year when he was playing in her hometown of Memphis.

A highly visible figure online, GloRilla has occasionally faced legal trouble and public scrutiny. In April 2024, she was arrested in Gwinnett County, Georgia, and charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after refusing to take a breathalyzer test during a traffic stop. She subsequently posted bond and was released, though the incident sparked widespread discussion regarding the state’s implied consent laws.

In July 2025, GloRilla found herself at the center of a controversial case regarding police priorities after her Georgia home was burglarized while she was performing at the WNBA All-Star Game. While investigating the high-value break-in, responding deputies claimed they smelled marijuana, secured a search warrant, and discovered a significant amount of cannabis in her bedroom closet. GloRilla voluntarily turned herself in on felony possession charges and posted a $22,260 bond. The arrest drew sharp criticism from her lawyers and local lawmakers, who argued that authorities wrongfully targeted a crime victim rather than focusing on the actual home invaders.
