What religion is Alex Warren?
Alex Warren is an American singer, songwriter, and YouTuber who is a Christian. Although he attended Catholic school growing up, he has transitioned to a broader Christian faith.
Alex Warren has released such acclaimed projects as “You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1),” “You’ll Be Alright, Kid,” and his sophomore album “Wildchild.” He has also co-written and performed many hit songs alongside other prominent artists, including Jelly Roll’s “Bloodline” and ROSÉ’s “On My Mind.” Warren has won numerous accolades during his career, including an MTV Video Music Award and an iHeartRadio Music Award, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2026.
Early life
Before he finished elementary school, Warren’s father, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer twice, introduced him to artists like Coldplay, Linkin Park, and Train and later gave him a Fender guitar, took him daily to the skatepark, and made sure to preserve memories of their time together by filming constantly. His father died from kidney cancer after Warren turned nine, and the stress of raising four children and managing investment properties during the 2008 market crash drove his mother into violent alcoholism and a cycle of physical and emotional abuse toward him. At age 17, she kicked him out of the house, and after short periods of couch‑surfing,, he lived in his car for nearly six months, supported by friends who let him sleep in their vehicles and shelters. He was diagnosed with mental illness and tried therapy at a young age but found it ineffective, later describing music as the only place where he felt understood and free.
Social media beginnings
Alex Warren first rose to prominence in late 2019 as a core internet personality during the early explosive wave of TikTok. In November 2019, Warren co-founded the Los Angeles-based TikTok collective the Hype House alongside Chase Hudson, Thomas Petrou, and Daisy Keech. The collective, which also counted Addison Rae among its members, became one of the defining phenomena of the platform’s early boom, reaching peak popularity during the 2020-2021 pandemic lockdowns as it offered millions of young viewers an escape through lighthearted, trend-setting content. In early 2020, Warren faced public accusations from fans of YouTuber David Dobrik that he had copied Dobrik’s video style, mannerisms, and signature laugh. That same year, he hosted AwesomenessTV’s reality competition series Next Influencer on YouTube, in which contestants lived together in a TikTok content house, and earned a Streamy Award nomination for First Person content. By early 2022, his platforms had grown enormously, with his YouTube channel surpassing 2.6 million subscribers and his TikTok account reaching 14 million followers. Later that year, Warren left the collective, citing an unpaid “falling out” among members, and the Hype House disbanded shortly after.
Musical transition
In June 2021, while still active in the collective, Warren independently released his debut single, “One More I Love You,” a song he had actually begun writing at 13 in tribute to his late friend Cody Purcell. The momentum from that release helped him secure a deal with Atlantic Records in 2022, formally marking his pivot from content creation to professional musician. He went on to create the podcast Locked In with Alex Warren that same year, which he later co-hosted with his wife, fellow former Hype House member Kouvr Annon. Warren has named Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Benson Boone, and David Kushner among his key musical influences. His early single, “Before You Leave Me,” became his first UK chart entry in February 2024, peaking at number 80, while “Save You a Seat,” used in more than 144,000 TikTok videos by late 2024, gave him his first Billboard chart entry that April. “Carry You Home,” released in May 2024, became his second UK chart entry, eventually peaking at number nine in April 2025, and he performed the song at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade later that year. His September 2024 single “Burning Down” became his first-ever entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 69, and was included on his debut studio EP, You’ll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1), released September 27, 2024. A remix of the track featuring Joe Jonas followed in December 2024.
Global breakthrough
In February 2025, Warren released the single “Ordinary.” It soon became popular on TikTok, and the following month Warren performed it on the reunion episode of Netflix’s Love Is Blind season 8. “Ordinary” went on to top the Billboard Hot 100, as well as the charts in Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. In the UK specifically, it became the longest-running number-one song of the 2020s, surpassing Ed Sheeran’s “Bad Habits,” and the longest uninterrupted run at number one on the UK Singles Chart by any American male solo artist in chart history. He supported the single and its accompanying material with the international Cheaper Than Therapy tour, which ran from February to August 2025, and in April 2025 he performed an upcoming collaboration with Jelly Roll, titled “Bloodline,” at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California. His continued momentum throughout 2025 culminated in a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best New Artist at the 2026 ceremony.
Personal life
Warren met digital creator Kouvr Annon on Snapchat in 2018 through a mutual friend. They clicked instantly and began dating when they were both 18 years old. Early in their relationship, when Warren was kicked out of his home, Annon moved from Hawaii to California to be with him. The couple famously survived by sleeping in cars together. They got engaged on New Year’s Eve in 2022 and married on June 22, 2024, in a ceremony in Malibu, California, after six years together.
Following his massive streaming success, Warren and Annon recently purchased their first house together.
